If there's disturbing realization I've come across and trust me I'm kinda too late in saying the obvious here, but when it comes to exposing the fraudsters in this industry you'll get a sense of "why bother?" Let me clarify that by saying this. The video game industry and corporations in general will continue to find ways to be make money. Making money isn't a bad thing, let me clear. However, corporations will use any trick to get more money from consumers. When I discuss the blatant greediness these companies do, I do so in the hope of enlightening people. Sure I'm under no delusion my journals attract so much attention, I think at best they get like 100 views? But I still like to say something, and these journals help with that. If I can make even one person see how bad things are, I feel good about myself knowing people can be awoken to this madness and maybe push back against the Sonys and EAs of the world.

However, at the same time they continue to do so and people are either so used to it or worse, excuse it because they're either paid shills or investors masquerading as gamers. Case in point Dragons Dogma 2. The game was released to having microtransactions for basic things like recustomizing your character (You only have one save file btw) or fast travel. To be fair, these are things you can do for free later on, these are quick and easy cheat codes and capcom has been doing it in their most recent games like RE4 Remake and DMC 5. But why is this shit normalized? Simple we as consumers got used it and went along with it while the apologists did everything they could in there power to minimize this greed and what have we gotten? Sega is now locking new game plus behind a pay wall for cripes sakes.

I can go on and on, but I think I made my point. I will continue to discuss greed in this industry down the road, but its like shouting from the mountain tops but no one is listening.

Have a good friday!

So despite my earlier posts criticizing Microsoft for porting their own titles to PlayStatio,((My argument being it harms competition) I was still eager to try out hi fi rush. It’s a game I got recommended by someone and it’s one of the few Xbox series exclusives I wanted to try out. So in hindsight microsoft did me a solid and saved me 500 dollars in buying one of their oversized bricks.

i just started playing but I wanted to comment on how amazing the game looks and how well it is animated. Like seriously it’s like watching an animated cartoon! I’ve been gaming for a long time and really it Is kinda hard to be impressed in an industry that shoots out the same game every week. Combat wise it’s fun, but I’m just starting out. It’s a wonderful hack and slash game (Yea I will call it that. I dislike the terms character action game or spectacle fighter because those sound dumb to me. I don’t care what you think or say lol)

My bad

1 min read

So yesterday I foolishy let nostalgia and blind fanboyism drive me to make a fan boy post for Star Wars battlefront collection. This port has really bad bugs. It’s overpriced. 34 dollars for two old ps2 games. I bought more modern games for less. For some godly reason its memory is over 30 gigs for two ps2 games with barely any improvements.

sooo yeah my bad. Don’t spend your money on a lazy port like this.

So tomorrow we're finally getting updated releases of not just two classic ps2 games, but arguably two of the best Star Wars games to date. No I don't mean EA's horrendous Battlefront reboots, but the ones by Pandemic Games (Which was closed down by EA funny enough).

To say I'm excited is an understatement. Battlefront 1 and 2 were classic games I've replayed many times in my youth. Sure, it's been a decade or so since I last played them, opinions change over time, but I like to think the games are just as good as they were back in the 2000s. A time when gaming was corrupted like it is today (See Battlefront 2 EA for a good example.)

These games were fun to play, were filled with so much content like Galactic Conquest which made it feel like you were actually trying to conquer or restore freedom to the galaxy. Those games didn't have any microtransaction or lame dlc passes.

They are relics of a bygone era, but I can't wait to replay them.

It's been a few days since the unfortunate news of Toriyama's passing. I'm still in shock and in deep sadness over his sudden passing. To say this man helped create a pop culture sensation with dragon ball is just underselling it in my opinion. Akira Toriyama wasn't a name I knew in the 90s when dragon ball z aired on toonami. But I can't forget the work this man did. Dragon Ball Z was my child hood and one of my favorite anime of all time. I was there for the ocean dub, when Haim Saban produced it before turning it over to Funimation. I won't forget the pivotal moment when Goku turned super saiyan for the first time and beat Frieza's ass on namek! It was art in all its splendor! I won't forget the final episodes where everyone banded together to defeat Kid Buu on the planet of the kais.

Toriyama did alot for people, and it shouldn't be no surprise a lot of people are making tributes. To me he was a legend, a regular man who created a grand world with awesome characters! Right now it isn't the time to be sad, but celebrate his works, his contributions. Even if you never watched Dragon ball Z, you'll no doubt have watched an anime that's been influenced by Toriyama, the man who contributed to modern shonen anime.
